The story behind my work

Woman with long reddish hair smiling indoors, resting her chin on her hand.

Hi! I'm Britt Larson

When I'm not working with clients, you'll probably find me outside with my family, in the garden, collecting eggs from our chickens, chasing after our two miracle kiddos, or heading down another rabbit hole because I genuinely love learning how the human body works.

Also known for terrible jokes and killer dance moves (Napoleon Dynamite?!), asking too many questions, and getting genuinely excited when a client finally has that "everything makes sense now" moment.

I'm an IFBB Professional Bodybuilder, Functional Nutritionist, non-physician Doctor of Functional Medicine, and hold both a PhD in Holistic Medicine and a PhD in Clinical Nutrition. For more than 16 years, I've dedicated my career to understanding how nutrition, physiology, genetics, and lifestyle work together to influence health and performance.

About Me

I've always been fascinated by one question:

Why can two people eat the same foods, follow the same workout program, and live similar lifestyles... yet experience completely different results?

That question has shaped my career for more than sixteen years.

It led me from competitive bodybuilding into functional medicine, clinical nutrition, and nutrigenomics. It led me to thousands of hours working with clients, studying physiology, interpreting genetics, and learning that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach to health.

Today, much of my work centers around nutrigenomics and genetics. Instead of relying on one-size-fits-all recommendations, I help people understand how their body is designed to function so we can build nutrition, supplementation, training, and lifestyle guidance that is truly individualized.

But if I'm being honest, none of this started in a classroom.

It started because I became a patient.

As a teenager, I was diagnosed with Lupus and later Crohn's disease. Like many people facing chronic illness, I was handed medications and told this was simply my future. When I asked what role nutrition might play, I was told it wouldn't make a meaningful difference and that my focus should remain on medication. If I didn’t, I would “die within 5 years of complications.” Oof.

That answer never sat right with me.

So I started asking better questions.

Those questions became years of study, thousands of hours working with clients, countless continuing education courses, conferences, and eventually advanced degrees. Along the way, I learned plenty through trial and error—both personally and professionally.

Over time, my Crohn's entered remission. Eventually, my Lupus followed. While every person's story is different and no outcome can ever be promised, those experiences completely changed the direction of my life.

My husband and I also walked through one of the hardest seasons imaginable. After twelve pregnancies and ten heartbreaking miscarriages, we were blessed with our two incredible miracle children. That journey taught me resilience, patience, perspective, and just how deeply health touches every part of our lives.

Those experiences shape the way I work with every client today.

I'm a firm believer that our bodies are incredibly intelligent. Give them the right information, the right environment, and the right support, and they often become capable of far more than we've been led to believe. Education creates confidence. Confidence creates consistency. And consistency changes lives.

Whether you're trying to lose weight, build muscle, improve performance, restore your health, prepare for pregnancy, recover from burnout, or simply feel like yourself again, my goal isn't just to hand you a meal plan or workout program. My goal is to help you understand why your body responds the way it does and give you the tools to work with it instead of constantly feeling like you're working against it.

I don't diagnose, treat, or cure disease, and I don't replace your physician. My role is to educate, interpret data, identify opportunities, and work alongside you—and, when appropriate, your healthcare team—to create an evidence-informed plan that supports your individual physiology.

Our bodies are always communicating with us. When we learn how to listen, the answers are often already there.

If you're looking for someone who will tell you the truth, educate you instead of talk over you, and genuinely celebrate your wins right alongside you, I think you'll feel at home here.

I'd be honored to help you discover what's possible when you truly understand your body.
